Student Support
Help desk
Helpdesk is the first port of call for general student enquiries. Advisors can also refer students to the appropriate specialist team, make an appointment for students to see a specialist, or direct them to appropriate department.
The service is available seven days a week by phone, email, Skype or Facebook and face-to-face in the helpdesk at the campus.
This is the central place for handing in all coursework that is not submitted electronically.

Helpdesk Advisors can provide information and support on all aspects of the Institute:
Your academic history and course of study, as well as the sources of financial aid and social assistance access to other university services, including the library, IT, and information inquiries.
GIBS Physical and Digital Libraries
The physical library provides a wealth of material to support taught programmes and research. The most exciting news for students at GIBS is that no students have to buy a single book for their course of study. GIBS has a unique digital library which provides enormous resources such as e-books, research articles, lecture notes, presentations, tutorials etc. in different areas of Business (Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management etc.), Computing & Communications Technology, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, English language and learning materials etc.
Counselling
If you encounter problems while studying – related to coursework, personal or emotional difficulties – you can consult one of our professional counsellors confidentially. They are available at campus for one-to-one sessions, group workshops on issues such as managing stress and starting at institute, and can also provide referral services.
Student Welfare
GIBS student welfare team offers an independent service to all students by providing information and advice on all aspects of institute life. Whatever your welfare or academic needs, the team is on hand to offer you unbiased advice, help and support.
Students with Disabilities
We are committed to equality of access and our student welfare team is dedicated to working towards this and supporting disabled students through their time with GIBS. They can help you with advice on study, practical help and other matters like arranging special provision for examinations.
Learner Development Unit (LDU)
The LDU is a team of specialists in academic writing and English language development, numeracy and dyslexia support. They give each new student a diagnostic check of their academic English and numeracy skills, and offer tailored support in any areas where there is room for development. The LDU provides workshops/seminars, courses and one-to-one tutorials to help you succeed throughout the course of study.
