Authentic British Qualification
We pride ourselves on providing courses that lead to ‘Authentic British’ (mapped to the National Qualifications Framework) qualifications from Edexcel (Pearson), Association of International Accountants (AIA) etc. At GIBS, students can also join the 3rd year Top-up degrees and postgraduate degrees which are awarded by recognised British universities.
British qualifications have a strong established foundation of many centuries and are relied upon extensively and recognised globally. British qualifications are also most evolved to meet today’s and tomorrow’s needs of global markets, not yesterday’s requirements.

A: We offer a wide range of basic skills, corporate training, diploma, advance diploma, postgraduate diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, language and professional level courses.
A: At the moment, we offer TWO years Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business, Computing & Systems development and Marine Engineering which are awarded by Edexcel (Pearson), UK. We also offer THREE years Professional accountancy course (same as Chartered accountancy Course) which is awarded by Association of International Accountants (AIA), UK
A: Of course, students can apply/join for the degree programmes (BBA, BA, BSc etc.) at most universities in UK, other European, Australian, Asian and North American universities. Please note that Edexcel (Pearson) is one of the most recognisd awarding organisations in the world.
To find the appropriate progression route (BSc, BBA, MBA & MSc in Business, Computing, Engineering, English and Law) with our running programmes, GIBS is determined to establish a Collaborative Partnershipwith 3/4 UK universities and a collaboration process is already in progress.
The collaboration process with awarding bodies (UK universities) includes final year undergraduate Top-up programme, Masters, and validation of customised undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
N.B: All certificates would be awarded by UK awarding organisations or bodies.

A: Once students complete TWO years HND at GIBS, students can transfer their credits to UK or other foreign universities or some Public/Private universities in Bangladesh. However, Students can continue at GIBS towards completion of their degree which is more economic.

Q: Who is awarding the degrees at GIBS?
A: Not at the moment BUT the collaboration process with couple of UK universities is in progress. Hopefully we are going to offer in the near future.
- Q: Do you offer any alternative Accountancy course of ACCA, CIMA or CA?
A: Yes, we do. We offer THREE years world recognised AIA professional accountancy course which is the alternative version of ACCA or CA.
The Association of International Accountants (AIA) is a global body for professional accountants, which was founded in the United Kingdom in 1928.
The AIA has promoted the concept of ‘international accounting’ to create a global network of accountants in over 85 countries worldwide.

- Q: What is the progression route for the AIA professional qualification?

The AIA professional accountancy qualification is accepted as equivalent to a first degree for entry purposes onto an ever increasing number of full and part-time MBA programmes, both in the UK and overseas. The AIA qualification is currently accepted by the following universities:

- Q: What is the most attractive & beneficial issue in studying British Degree Courses at GIBS under affiliation of the British University or awarding body/organisation?
A: You know that GIBS is an academic institute which offers British Diplomas/Degrees, such as BSc (Honours), MSc, BBA (Honours), MBA, Professional Accountancy, Diploma (HND), Postgraduate Diploma and more; you can compare your study at GIBS with a Student studying the same degree/courses there in Great Britain. You will benefit more than the student studying in Britain, economically 1:15. After obtaining your British Degree from studying at GIBS you could go abroad like UK, US, Canada, Australia for pursuing Postgraduate Degree and you can apply for a job straightway over there as your achieved degree is world recognised.
- Q: What is the standard & career aspect of achieved Degrees from GIBS under affiliation of the British University or awarding body/organisation?
A: You know all degrees achieved at GIBS are world standard and recognised, that is UK, US, EU, Canada, Middle East, Australia, China, Japan etc. and you can get your suitable job, involved with business or further education in Bangladesh and all over the world. You can even build your professional career through virtual working system worldwide from your office/home easily.
- Q: What sort of standard of Faculty & tuition can I expect to receive at GIBS?
A: GIBS ensures high standard comparing British University faculty & tuition for all departments & subjects. As a guide to students, we have developed a quality assurance framework which could be compared with British University or awarding body/organisation.
- Q: What is the status of the British Degrees achieved at GIBS in Bangladesh?
A: First of all, please bear in mind that GIBS does not award any degrees. GIBS provides tuitions at the campus for the courses affiliated by British university or awarding organisations/bodies. Your achieved British Degrees at GIBS are acceptable with high honor in Govt. Job, Semi Govt. Job, Non-Govt. Job in Bangladesh and all over the world.
- Q: What is the minimum requirement for admission to the British University Honours Degrees at GIBS?
A: You should have SSC & HSC with total GPA 6 /2nd Division or 5 O-Level & 2 A-Level.
- Q: What is the minimum requirement for admitting Proposed Postgraduate Degrees at GIBS under affiliation of the British University?
A: You should have SSC & HSC with total GPA 6 /2nd Division or 5 O-Level & 2 A-Level & Bachelor/Honors Degrees for the proposed Postgraduate Degrees.
- Q: What are the procedures & fees-payments for admission, registration, study materials and examinations for British University Degrees or awarding body/organisation?
A: At first, you have to take an admission form for BDT 300.00 and fill up all the information required. Along with the completed application form please submit both digital (scanned) copy & photocopy (hardcopies) of the certificates & transcripts (mark sheets), National ID card or passport, Birth certificate and Two passport sized photographs to the admin department at GIBS. Please do contact for further steps and all other queries.
- Q: Is there any way to pay the Fees by installments?
A: Yes. You may pay 50% during enrollment and the remaining outstanding 50% of tuition fees just before examination.
- Q: How could I be confirmed about my registration and exam fees from British Universities or awarding organisations?
A: You will have received receipt & registration code and you may enquire to the respective British University/Authority website or by direct contact (email or telephone).
- Q: For each course, how many days a week do you run the classes?
A: For each course, students need to attend the classes for 3 days a week. Each class session lasts for 3 hours. There are TWO sessions per day. So students will have enough time to utilize for other activities such as part-time job, sports, recreation, social work, preparing coursework or assignment etc.
- Q: What is the medium of instruction and verbal communication at GIBS?
A: The medium of instruction and verbal communication at GIBS is ENGLISH. Therefore, it is mandatory for all students to attend the ESOL and English spoken & written expression courses which is absolutely free of cost.
- Q: How many semesters do you run per year and what is the duration of each semester?
A: GIBS run TWO semesters per year and each one lasts for 4-5 months.
- Q: How many classes or sessions in a semester do you run for each module of course?
A: There are 12-14 sessions/classes for each module of a course per semester. Note that each class session lasts for 3 hours.
- Q: Is there any work placement or internship opportunities arranged by GIBS?
A: Yes, for Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, we have managed to make an agreement on Industry-Academic Collaboration Programme (IACP) with couple of Shipyards in Chittagong.
The function of the Intern is to provide technical support and assistance across each Team within the Shipbuilding or Ship-repairing Departments, developing skills and capabilities they will need to perform as a full-time employee in the future within the Marine technology field. This will be accomplished by working on various projects and assignments as directed by each Shipbuilding/Marine Engineering Team in support of on-going operations in the relevant field.
For the students of Business, Computing and Accountancy courses, similar collaboration processes with several relevant organisations or industries are in progress.
- Q: When can I utilize my time for work placement or internship activities?
A: At GIBS, students will be able to complete each semester within 4 to 4.5 months. Therefore, students will have an opportunity to get involved with an orgnaisation or industry either as work placement or an Intern for a month (at least). They can undertake any kind of project assigned by an organisation.
- Q: Can I study/attend classes with GIBS from abroad or is that possible through video conference from anywhere? Or Can I attend the class session through Internet/video conference when I need to stay abroad for few days or from workplace/home?
A: You can have digital study material, email & blog discussion with faculties and more. But at the moment we don’t deliver lecture/tuition facility by video conferencing. However, we have got a plan in the future.
- Q: Can I study at the British University in the UK? How can I arrange a visa?
A: Because of flexibility, British Degree/Postgraduate Degree courses can be studied anywhere in the world. The GIBS Student/Career Advising Wing will provide you advice how to gain a visa for UK or anywhere in the world with high possibility.
- Q: If there is any complaint about any issue or matter, what should I do?
A: If unfortunately there is any complaint about any issue or matter, please refer all to our students’ complaint committee or directly to the Chairman.
- Q: Will the name of GreenTech Institute of Business & Science (GIBS) and British University, Edexcel, AIA or any other awarding Organisation’s name appear on my degree certificate?
A: Only BRITISH UNIVERSITY or EDEXCEL or awarding Organisation’s / Body’s name will appear in the MAIN CERTIFICATE. However, if required, a Testimonial Certificate from GIBS could be issued where both GIBS and awarding Organisation’s /Body’s name could be mentioned.
- Q: Do you offer short courses?
A: Corporate Training and Short Courses are available on variety of subjects.
- Q: Do you offer ESOL or IELTS or English speaking course?
A: Yes, we do.
- Q: Do you offer any distance learning courses?
A: Not at the moment.
- Q: When do you start the semesters?
A: Degrees and Diplomas at GIBS normally commence in January/February and September/October.
- Q: Do you hold Open Days?
A: Yes – information about open days can be found in our events section in the website.
- Q: Do I need to take a test of English proficiency?
A: If English is not your first language or you are not proficient in English you should attend ESOL courses for free of cost.
- Q: Can I transfer from my present university to a course at GIBS under British awarding Organisation/Body?
A: You should contact GIBS for assessment and if eligible, you may then transfer as per GIBS & British University Policy.
- Q: Are scholarships available at GIBS?
A: Yes, but conditions apply.
- Q: Can I transfer to any other affiliated institute?
A: Yes, but conditions apply.
- Q: Can I use British University Research Library Services/ Digital Resources?

- Q: As a student of the University can I get any careers advice?
A: Yes – Career Advising Wing of GIBS helps both students and graduates.
- Q: Is there any place for prayers at GIBS campus?
A: Yes.
- Q: I have a disability – where can I find more information about GIBS or University’s provision for this?
A: You should contact with Local Authorities.
- Q: I need to obtain a transcript or recommendation letter– who do I contact?
A: Any officer in the Admin Department can advise you on how to obtain a copy of your academic transcript or letter of recommendation.
- Q: I have recently completed graduation and haven’t received my certificate – who do I contact?
A: The Admin Department is responsible for advice and providing necessary information.
- Q: Who will organize the graduation ceremony? Can I attend Convocation at British University?
A: GIBS will organize your graduation ceremony at the Campus. You may attend the Convocation at British University but conditions apply in this regard.
- Q: Are there any hostel facilities for students?
A: Still GIBS hasn’t set its concern for providing accommodation facilities to its students. But in this port city – Chittagong, students from other districts, territory or abroad will get the dwelling opportunity quite easily with an optimal cost.
- Q: What are the placements at GIBS?
A: For placement updates visit the placement section of GIBS or its website.
- Q: Do you run any autonomous courses?
A: GIBS run some of the professional courses related to technology or management; but the regular program along with others are designed accordingly and affiliated to the most reputed UK Universities.
- Q: How do I get admitted into GIBS pursuing my present jobs?
A: Working professionals are encouraged to join all programmes at this institute. For getting more information on this, please contact GIBS member of staff.
- Q: Do I need permission to film at the GIBS campus?
A: GIBS permission is needed to film anywhere on GIBS-owned property.
- Q: I am trying to locate a student at GIBS– how can I do this?
A: You should contact the GIBS Authority or Admin if you know where the student studies. However, students’ information are protected by data protection acts/laws.
- Q: I am trying to obtain confirmation that someone is a student/graduate of the GIBS– who can help?
A: You should contact the Admin Department in the first instance. However, students/graduates information are protected by data protection acts/laws.
